“I can’t believe I’m already hitting a weight loss rut,” my friend, Amie, lamented.
Amie had been following her healthy eating plan religiously for a few months, but the speedy weight loss she’d initially enjoyed had gone from a sprint to a crawl. Now, she feared her once-rapid metabolism had taken a seat on the bench.
“I feel like I’m eating next to nothing, but suddenly, the scale’s not moving, and my jeans are starting to dig into my belly again,” she said. “I sometimes feel like all this sacrifice isn’t worth it. I’d kill for a burger right about now.”
“You know what?” I replied. “It might be because you’re depriving yourself so much that your weight loss plan isn’t working. When you cut your caloric intake too low, it can actually make your metabolism less effective. What are you doing for exercise?”
She looked at me sheepishly. “I walked to work earlier this week, but, uh, that’s about it.”
“If you want to break out of that rut, you’ve got to get moving more often, and you’ve got to eat more! Not only can we catch up, I’ll show you how to slim down and tone up in no time.”
The next day, Amie and I hit the gym together, and just a month later, she hit her weight loss goal, too! Find out how you can do the same with the 40 Easy Exercises That Burn a Pound a Week!
